Muhidin Libah
Co-Founder, President and Executive Director
Muhidin Libah is a Somali Bantu community leader, nonprofit co-founder, and advocate for community-led development.
Born in southern Somalia, he later lived in a refugee camp in Kenya before arriving in the United States in 2004. His personal experience of displacement, resettlement, agriculture, and rebuilding community has shaped a leadership approach centered on dignity, self-reliance, and practical action.
Libah graduated from the University of Southern Maine. He helped establish the Somali Bantu Community Association of Maine and continues to serve as its Executive Director. He has also co-founded other community organizations, including Middle Juba Relief and Sustainability Organization.
Through MJRSO, he brings together direct knowledge of southern Somalia and years of nonprofit leadership in Maine. His work reflects a belief that communities should have both the immediate support and the long-term opportunities needed to shape their own futures.

Effective humanitarian and development work requires more than outside resources. It requires trust, cultural understanding, careful listening, and respect for the knowledge communities already hold.
MJRSO’s leadership approach is informed by lived experience and by years of work supporting immigrant, refugee, agricultural, and community-led initiatives in Maine.
